FAQ: Can I mount my power supply in a test rack that is tilted at an angle?

Mechanically this will be acceptable, but attention needs to be given to cooling the instruments.

Venting should be added at or near the highest points in the rack.

Note that the position that puts the greatest amount of strain on the rack-mounting ears is when the instruments are mounted horizontally in a rack. This is most often the case, since the instruments are commonly installed horizontally. Any reduction from this 90-degree angle will reduce this strain, so having them mounted in a 35-degree slanted rack will be acceptable.
